Bacon B-Day Cake

Bacon B-Day Cake

This cake was a challenge....The Birthday theme was Bacon!  Everything you see here is edible, including the people.  The figurines were made out of molding paste mixed with gum paste.  most everything was hand painted on this cake.  The bottom layer is just done with buttercream icing and the grass tip.

Baby Birthday Cake

Baby Birthday Cake

This cake was an easy cake to create, the entire thing was iced in buttercream with fondant detail.  All of the cake topper decorations you can purchase at any party supply store.

Topsy Turvy B-Day Cake

Topsy Turvy B-Day Cake

This cake was the 1st Topsy turvy cake that I've created.  It was a challenge, but overall lots of fun!  The offset cakes are an illusion, you actually have to cut into the top of each layer and place the next layer in the top of the previous layer.

The secret to this cake was the tree!  The base was completely made out of brownies and the foliage was made out of Angel food cake colored green.

Toy Story B-Day Cake 2

Toy Story B-Day Cake 2

This cake was so much fun to make... I got a little carried away but had such a great time.  My favorite part was the jeans, the top tier was covered in blue fondant and the stitching was piped in the golden yellow.

Bowling B-Day Cake

Bowling B-Day Cake

This cake was created especially for my little brother!  The bowling lane was created out of fondant...I made the wood look by using a embossing tool and creating the wood grain.  I used two different types of brown to randomly mark the wood then brushed over it with water to create the look I desired. The main thing is covered in a chocolate ganache.  The cake was good, I would probably add a little more filling to compensate for the lack of traditional frosting.

Lego B-Day Cake

Lego B-Day Cake

My sister-in-law and I created this cake at our family lake home.  We used a cake molding product to create the legos.  The only thing I would have done differently is spent a little more time on the exact measurements for the legos...they could have been a bit cleaner.

Toy Story B-Day Cake

Toy Story B-Day Cake

This cake was created by my sister-in-law and I, for her son's birthday.  I created all the wood by using an embossing tool to make wood grain and then brushed it directly with gel color and then brushed over that with water.  The depth of the color was caught by the wood grain I created and then spread out over the rest of the wood plank.  This was the first time attempting wood!

Mermaid B-Day Cake

Mermaid B-Day Cake

The dynamic duo (sister-in-law and I) created this cake as well.  I piped the bathing suit top on the doll, also using the ribbon tip I piped the fin portion on the cake.  The seascape was created by fondant cutouts and a little molding by hand. It was a quick easy cake to accomplish.

Anniversary Cake

Anniversary Cake

I created this cake for my Grandparents 50th anniversary party. The design was created out of hand made stencils and cut out of fondant.  I made each individual flower ahead of time out of gumpaste.  The cake topper was their original  cake topper from their wedding.  It was a memorable creation!

Gumpaste Roses

GumPaste Roses

These were the roses I created ahead of time for the anniversary cake.  I had them shipped to Idaho to use in the making of the cake.  To be honest they took forever to make, turned out great though!

Cherries Jubilee

I made this cake for a coworker, the swirls are created using chocolate.  The frosting is a whipped frosting.
